Capturing Eyes

Capturing Eyes
This is a grid drawing done in 10th grade.  The original picture comes from a magezine propaganda of UNICEF. I really liked this boy in the magezine because of his eyes. As soon as I saw his eyes I felt traped in them. What I tried to do in this sketch was capture that feeling I felt by looking at the boys eyes. By looking at the sketch I feel that I could capture some one in the eyes of my drawing. I feel that the boy in my drawing looks very much alike the boy in the picture, so I think I could acomplish what I wanted.
For this drawing I used pencil and a blending stick. Probably for my next drawings I would try to use thiker pencils because when you look cearfully to the drawing you can see the pencil lines I used to shade the drawing. I did not like how thw mouth of my drawing came out, The mouth in my drawing dose not look like the original mouth in the picture. I think somthing I could improve in this drawing is texture and 3D aspect. The boy in the picture looks alive, while the boy in my drawing looks like a drawing. Both texture and 3D aspect can be improoved with the shading.

The Anthurium

Picture
Anthurium
This is a drawing of an Anthurium. I drawed this flower because it is one of my favorite flowers. Its original color is withe on the outside and yellow. . I filled the back with yellow for two resons. The first one was to give the drawing more intensity so the anthurium would pop out as soon as you see the drawing  The second one was to give the picture a more colorfull aspect insted of a grayish aspect.
For this drawing I used a thick pencil and added some shadins with a blending stick to give it and more texture and real life aspect. I think it would of been better if  had used charcol for my drawing. The charol has a darker collor that could of brought even more ocntrast with the yellow color.

The Black Dancer

Picture
The Black Dancer
This sketch is inspirated on the movie "Black Swan". It represents a dancer or even any person that in the outside looks colorfull but on the inside this person is full of anger, desperation, sadness or bad thoughts. The outside of the person is represented on the dancers skirt, the skirt is light blue, The skirt shows the dancers outside, how the dancer makes everyone see her. But really the dancer is black, she is sad, she dose not trust herself, she has not acomplished what she wants. This can be a reality for anyone, not only a dancer.
For this drawing I useda thick pencil, color pencil, and shading stick. If I did this drawing again I would use black charcol. The black charcol would bring more contrast between the skirt and the body of the dancer. The black charcol would also bring more enphasis to the idea of the inside of the dancer beeing black.
